The 2 techniques we are usingare cute celebritiess and amazing tous. By adding Hello Kitty as our cute celebrity to the cereal box, we hope tp draw the attention of little girl to want to try our cereal. Hello Kitty is everywhere so why not have a cereal to go along with all the toys.

The amazing toys we chose for our cereal box was the digital camera that comes with every box of Meow Mix. Every kid likes toys to come with their cereal free. We added the camera to go along with the Hello Kitty theme.

Alcohol and Tobacco Advertising

Alcohol is such a hot topic for advertising because advertisers know that a lot of people like to drink. Advertising is a way to let people see all the new types of alcohol that is out. It’s also a hot topic because people are angry that most of the advertising is directed towards teens and young people. Advertisers use their ads and commercials with national idols drinking because they know that there are kids looking up to them. They want to get the young people hooked on alcohol at a young age just so they can make a lot of money.

Tobacco is also a hot topic of advertising. Tobacco is such a hot topic because it is one of the leading causes of lung cancer, which can sometimes be deadly. Tobacco advertising is also targeted at teens and young people just as alcohol is. Tobacco ads include idols smoking, people looking cool and a stress reliever. Many teens face issues dealing with the “in crowd” and stress. Tobacco advertisers target personal problems and make people believe smoking is a way to solve the problem.

Growing Up Online

I think the video was very good. It kept my interest throughout the whole video. I also think it was very opinionative. The one lady that was head of the PTA was, I think, was over analytical and over reacting. Not every kid that has pages on Myspace and Facebook are being exposed to online predators. Majority of kids exposed to online predators know how to deal with them, they simply ignore them. I think that Myspace and Facebook are worried about to much by parents. They are blowing it up and making a big deal about nothing. They should be confident that they have taught their children the correct way to handle themselves against people in the world.

Blogging

I think that blogging is a way to express your opinion and see how many people agree or disagree with you. It is also a way to see what is in style and not in style. Blogging is a way to maybe express your feelings to someone about something that you don't feel comfortable talking about with someone you know. It is also a way to socialize and meet people.

Urban Legend

My favorite Urban Legend is The Dead Body Under Your Freaking Mattress. This particular Urban Legend is about dead bodies being found decomposing under hotel and motel mattresses. A couple was at a hotel and they had complained to the hotel staff that there was a very foul smell in their room. A staff member suggested that the smell was coming from under the bed. The mattress was taken off to expose a rotting girl had been stuffed in the box spring. It has been proven that this particular accident did happen in a Las Vegas hotel. There have been other reported accidents of dead bodies being found in hotel rooms in Kansas City, Montana, Atlantic City, New Jersey, Florida, and California.

This is my favorite Urban Legend from the ones I've read so far because it was actually proven true and I travel a lot. It makes me think that maybe that could happen to me while staying in a room and I kind of think it would be some what funny but not really. I just think that it would be an experience to experience that. I think it would make me have a deeper respect for corpses.

Media Violence

I think media violence is a way for producers to attract more consumers. I don’t think violence in the media is meant to teach little kids that violence okay. I think that now a days violence sells more then non-violence. Media violence is also stereotypical sometimes. For example, some violent video games that are out they portray the white male in a position of authority, whereas minorities are the criminals going around killing people just because or for the superior white male. Every white man is not in a position of high authority in the real world, so I don’t think they should be portrayed that way in majority of video games. Also with the white male at the head in video games telling people to go out and commit crimes, it kind of gives off the image that they are the reason for a lot of violence. They also show that the women are objects or they are beneath the male. For example, in Grand Theft Auto there are many strip clubs where the character can go into and see strippers. Also the character can be seen picking up prostitutes off the street, having sex with her in the back seat of the car, and then dragging her out of the car and beating her to death.
